Wind Ensemble
This group is comprised of the most mature musicians in the program who strive for the highest level of music performance and artistry. This ensemble has had a history of being one of the top performing ensembles in the state. They perform college-level literature and are expected to be leaders in the Clear Creek High School band program. All students study privately, compete in district band auditions, and participate in UIL solo and ensemble contest. This group takes an out-of-state trip every other year and in-state on the alternate years. Sectionals and after-school rehearsal are held during the spring semester and are a required part of being in the ensemble.
Symphonic Band
This group is comprised of students with solid fundamentals on their instrument and who are still developing their musical artistry. Members of this ensemble take private lessons, audition for Region band, and compete in UIL solo and ensemble contest. This ensemble performs advanced high band literature. Sectionals are held after school the marching band season and a required part of being in the ensemble.
Concert Band
This ensemble is comprised of students who are still refining the fundamentals on their particular instrument. There is a strong emphasis on improving technical skills and overall tone quality. Many of these students take private lessons and participate in UIL solo and ensemble contest. This band performs at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest in the spring. Sectionals are held after school during the spring semester.
Marching Band
ALL students in the Clear Creek Band Program participate in the marching band. This group rehearses daily after school during the fall football season and performs at all football games, pep rally’s, parades, and band competitions throughout the first 9 weeks of the school year. This is the largest organization on campus and most recognized performance ensemble in the band program.
Color Guard/Winter Guard
The Clear Creek Color Guard and Winter Guard is a visual performing ensemble open to all students at CCHS. They rehearse daily as part of an academic course throughout the entire school year. During the Fall, members of the Color Guard perform with the marching band at all competitions, football games, pep rally's, parades, and other various events. Winter Guard begins at the completion of the marching band season and is divided between a Varsity and Junior Varisty group. They perform throughout the state in the Texas Color Guard Circuit and Winter Guard International competitions.
