Eli Garza - Assistant Percussion Director

Eli Garza was born in Brighton, Colorado and grew up in Houston, Texas. Mr. Garza is a recent graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music and is a CCISD alum from Clear Brook High School. During his time at SFA, he performed in multiple ensembles including percussion ensemble, jazz band, the Lumberjack Marching Band, and steel-drum band. As a member of the Lumberjack Marching Band, he had the opportunity to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in 2016. As a performer, Mr. Garza also included marching with the independent percussion group from Tyler Junior College in 2015 and as a high school member of the Clear Brook Indoor Percussion Ensemble.
Mr. Garza spent the majority of his time as an undergraduate gaining as much teaching
experience as possible, including serving on the Clear Brook percussion staff since the summer of 2015; the last three years as their battery coordinator. While on campus in Nacogdoches, he served for two years as the percussion specialist for Hudson ISD and taught private lessons at high schools and middle schools in the East Texas region.
Mr. Garza is eager to begin his teaching career in the district that started his musical experiences and is looking forward to working with the talented students of the Clear Creek High School band cluster!
