In our ongoing effort to streamline communication and processes, we are going to start using the BAND app to communicate.

The end goal is to have as few places as possible to share information. Band will (hopefully) be the primary source, supplemented by remind and the website.

Only current members and parents/guardians will be approved to join the Band group.

Many of you have already looked further ahead in the calendar, but I wanted to make sure and touch base about some important Saturday dates in the Spring.

We are fortunate to have one of the best band clinicians and teachers in the country, John Benzer, coming to work with our students several times this semester. Having worked with him for the last five years, I can tell you that the information he provides is invaluable in continuing the growth of the Creek Band program. 

Each student will be required to attend a 2 hour (2 1/2 hours for Wind Symphony) clinic on a few Saturday's in the spring. Please go ahead and put these on your calendar so that no students are absent. All students are expected to attend on the following dates:

• Saturday, January 26th
• Saturday, February 23rd
• Saturday, March 30th

The schedule for each day will be:

• 8:00am to 10:00am - Creek Symphonic Band
• 10:30am to 12:30am - Creek Concert Band
• 1:30pm to 3:30pm - Intermediate School Band
• 4:00pm to 6:30pm - Creek Wind Symphony

If you have any conflicts with these dates and times, it is imperative that you let me know immediately. Again, these are required events (much like marching contests in the fall) for all students.

Based on the results of discussions and the survey that was sent out, we will be wearing formal marching band uniforms on Saturday for the football game. Below is a list of the items that all students must have for these uniforms for the remainder of the season:

Students Will Bring/Wear:

• Black Compression Shorts (Examples Linked Here) ***Please have ASAP. If you don't have them for this Saturday that is okay...but please purchase within the week.*** - Please purchase two pairs (minimum) by October. One pair will be worn at the football game and another at the marching competition the next day. For competitions, students will be permitted to wear shorts on top of it, but the shorts that are worn underneath the uniforms (both formal and competitive) need to be as tight to the skin as possible.
• Creek Band Compression Shirt
• Black Calf Length Socks (With No Logos)
• Black Marching Shoes

The rest of the uniform will be provided.
